SCHOOL DAY DANCE & ARTS
IN-SCHOOL PROGRAMS & TRAININGS
Third graders depicting a family of excited turtles in the Family Photo game.
Students creating ingredients for a recipe for community and responding to dynamics in music with visual art.
With eight years of experience running the arts program at Gabriella Charter Schools and over twenty years working as a teaching artist in public schools in New York and LA, Liz's passion is connecting the arts to daily learning (with a particular interest in elementary dance/academic integration.) She has CA kinesiology (dance) and multiple subject teaching credentials, a BA in theater and a MA in education, all of which inform her approach to teaching.
Liz is currently working at Odyssey Charter Schools, bringing arts to TK-3rd grade students at both schools. She has developed a curriculum called Arts Fusion through which students explore the fundamentals of dance, theater, music, and visual arts, while also connecting their arts learning to the Social Justice Standards.
Liz has limited availability to work with other schools looking to bring more arts into their classrooms.
This could look like...
Professional development for classroom teachers so that they feel comfortable integrating the arts into their teaching
Collaborative creation of arts lessons with classroom teachers that help students grow socio-emotionally
Arts workshops tailored for particular grade levels and connected to grade level academic and arts standards or other standards such as Social Justice or SEL standards
Consulting with a school’s administration to tailor arts education next steps for your school
Whatever else you might be wanting! Creativity is the name of this game!
